Robbie Vale
Robbie is a writer of emotionally gripping suspense novels
Robbie likes well-crafted, entertaining and relatable stories that evoke powerful emotions as the suspense slowly builds. Stories set in interesting places populated by characters you believe in and care about.
Expect to meet people dealing with very human problems – past secrets, messy relationships and family dramas. Impossible choices and mounting jeopardy. Problems that grow and threaten everything they hold dear, including life itself. And invariably, a credible but heartless antagonist, one whose goals and plans put them in direct conflict with our hero.
‘I allow my readers to escape into another world, but one that feels real, believable, and compelling. One that places them at the heart of the protagonist’s dilemmas, causing them to wonder how they might react to, and deal with the choices, threats and jeopardy that unfold before them.’
Robbie’s childhood was spent in the English West Midlands, where he was a reluctant attendee at a posh prep school, followed by a very traditional boarding school. At the age of sixteen, Robbie’s family moved to South Wales, the birthplace of his mother. Savouring his new-found freedom, he drifted through college before knuckling down to work in his father’s fledgling business, following which he struck out on his own.
Marriage and a family followed, accompanied by multiple house moves as his burgeoning career took the family abroad. His experiences provide inspiration for stories and characters.
Robbie began writing at the time of Covid. He now lives on the beautiful Gower Peninsular with his wife, where they enjoy walking and hosting their family.
‘I love connecting with readers, understanding what they enjoy and getting their feedback.’
